Elin Jones: You're perfectly within your rights to decide on interventions.
Elin Jones: I call on Rhun ap Iorwerth now to reply to the debate.
Elin Jones: The proposal is to agree the motion without amendment. Does any Member object? [Objection.] There is objection. I will therefore defer voting until voting time.
Elin Jones: Before we move on to the vote, Natasha Asghar asked me earlier to reflect on the appropriateness of the use of the term 'hysterical' in response to her by the Deputy Minister for Climate Change during questions this afternoon. There is a very, very long history of the term 'hysteria' being used by men to demean women, especially women in public life, and I apologise to Natasha Asghar for not...
Elin Jones: We move to our first vote this afternoon, and the first vote is on the motion to approve the Senedd Commission budget for 2023-24. Elin Jones: The next votes are on item 9, the Plaid Cymru debate on nurses' pay. I call for a vote on the motion, tabled in the name of Siân Gwenllian. Open the vote. The vote is equal. In favour 25, one abstention, 25 against. And as required under Standing Orders, I will exercise my casting vote against the motion. The result of that vote would have been very similar to what it would have been if I...

Elin Jones: Good afternoon and welcome to this afternoon's meeting.
Elin Jones: Last time I sat in this chair was Saturday morning, and you all looked, on average, 30 years younger than you are currently. I can report that we had a very successful meeting of the elected Senedd Ieuenctid, the Welsh Youth Parliament, meeting in this Chamber for the first time since their election. It was a very successful meeting, and I urge you all to meet with the youth parliamentarians...
Elin Jones: So, thanks to everyone from the Youth Parliament for that meeting over the weekend.
Elin Jones: The first item is questions to the First Minister, and the first question is from Tom Giffard.
Elin Jones: I can confirm that charm will get you nowhere with this Chair. [Laughter.]
Elin Jones: Questions now from the party leaders. Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Andrew R.T. Davies.
Elin Jones: Leader of Plaid Cymru, Adam Price.
