The leader of the house, as the Welsh Government lead Minister for Better Jobs Closer to Home, has made repeated representations to the UK Government, and in particular the Minister for employment, both in writing and in person, setting out the Welsh Government's serious concerns about this proposal.

Has the Cabinet Secretary had any indications from local authorities that they would consider moving to a proportional representation system for local elections? And would he agree that such a system would be a fairer system and may help increase interest and participation in local elections?
Jeremy Miles: ...to introduce this Bill. The Wales Act 2017 has brought new powers in this area, and it's right that they should be used to make our legislature more effective, accessible and diverse in terms of representation.
Jeremy Miles: And a fair amount of the anxiety caused and suffered by people living in the UK and overseas is as a consequence of the sorts of representations and arguments being made by his party during that referendum.
Jeremy Miles: ...have the same protection as EU citizens will have under the deal that we understand. We've paid careful attention to the successive drafts of the withdrawal agreement, and we'll continue to make representations in support of that.

Carwyn Jones: ...Grid on a number of issues, including the proposed north Wales connection project, which is currently going through the development consent Order process. The Welsh Government has submitted its representations to this process.
Rebecca Evans: We recognise the importance of local post offices in serving our communities. While responsibility for the post office network is non-devolved, we continue to make representations to the UK Government regarding our concerns over the closure of post offices.
