(Translated) Will the First Minister make a statement on the future of hospital services for the people of north Powys?

Photo of Mark Drakeford Mark Drakeford Labour

I expect Powys Teaching Local Health Board to commission hospital services that meet the needs of the people of Powys. The health board is involved in NHS England’s Future Fit programme so that the health needs of Powys residents accessing services in Shropshire can be taken into account.

(Translated) Will the First Minister provide an update on Welsh Government plans to increase the affordable housing stock in Caerphilly?

Photo of Mark Drakeford Mark Drakeford Labour

The Welsh Government is supporting the provision of additional affordable housing in Caerphilly and across Wales. In 2016/17, we are making over £98 million available through our social housing grant programme. This will significantly support our target of 20,000 affordable homes during this administration.

(Translated) Will the First Minister make a statement on his proposals for the future governance of the UK's internal market?

Photo of Mark Drakeford Mark Drakeford Labour

We set out our view clearly in the White Paper ‘Securing Wales’ Future’. Common approaches to support the effective operation of the UK’s internal market must respect the devolution settlement and must be agreed between the UK and devolved Governments rather than imposed.

(Translated) What assessment has the Welsh Government made of the performance of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board since it was put under special measures?

Photo of Mark Drakeford Mark Drakeford Labour

Since being put in special measures, the health board has virtually eliminated diagnostic waits over eight weeks and consistently achieved above the target for ambulance performance. However, performance in some other areas is not where we would expect and the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Well-being and Sport has made his expectations clear.
