My department works closely with the fisheries sector across Wales and the Fisheries Advisory Group, on which west Wales’ industry is represented, plays an important role in fisheries management.  West Wales’ fishers have access to European Funding and are eligible for support through the Welsh Seafood Cluster and our trade and export programme.

(Translated) Will the Cabinet Secretary make a statement on the status of draft local development plans in current planning applications?

The Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires planning applications to be determined in accordance with the adopted plan unless material considerations indicate otherwise.  A draft Local Development Plan may be a material consideration.  This will be for the decision maker to determine.

Precision farming forms part of our work with stakeholders to develop a broader agriculture and land use strategy post Brexit and should not be considered in isolation. Technology and innovation, including the use of data, can help the industry become more resilient and competitive and address its climate change and environmental responsibilities.
