Last week, I had the great privilege of joining you on a visit to the remarkable Newport transporter bridge, one of only six bridges still operating in the world today and the best transporter bridge in the world. I know we both had the privilege of driving the gondola across the river—something that I will truly remember. Along with Newport City Council, Friends of Newport Transporter Bridge and Heritage Lottery, I fully support the campaign to help secure the future of the bridge. Opened in 1906, it's a distinctive industrial landmark and a much-loved icon on Newport's skyline. It's a symbol of our proud industrial and maritime heritage—
