The Welsh Government’s forthcoming local government and elections Bill will include measures to support our vision for democracy in Wales by extending the franchise, promoting transparency, diversity and ease of democratic participation.
We are continuing to support and improve public transport services for Blaenau Gwent, including the very popular Ebbw valley railway.
The 'Prosperity for All' national strategy and the economic action plan set out the actions we are taking to improve and strengthen the economy and business environment across the whole of Wales.
In addition to existing programmes designed to tackle ageism, the Welsh Government will launch our Making Rights Real campaign in the spring of this year. It will raise awareness of older people’s rights in Wales, working alongside the older people’s commissioner and others.
We support small businesses across Wales through Business Wales and the development bank. They offer bilingual advice, support and finance to help businesses start and grow. We also provide help to prepare for Brexit with a £7.5 million Brexit business resilience package.
The Minster for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs set out the Government’s priorities in her statements in June and November last year. With Brexit on the horizon, we will review priorities as necessary to ensure that the welfare of animals in Wales remains paramount.
Improved access to healthcare for patients in Mid and West Wales will be achieved through capital investment in health service infrastructure and by the development of innovative schemes across the region.
