As I made reference in my statement yesterday, tackling air pollution across Wales, including South Wales West, remains a top priority for the Welsh Government. I intend to consult on our Clean Air Plan for Wales in the autumn and set out action across all sectors to improve air quality.

The banning of third party sales of puppies and kittens in England is a welcome step forward in addressing welfare concerns at breeding premises throughout the UK. The Welsh Government consultation on third party sales was launched earlier this year. I will publish a summary of responses by 9th August.

The Welsh Government will support the farming industry in South Wales West, as in all parts of Wales, to become more profitable, sustainable, resilient, and professionally managed.  Over 2,700 businesses in the region have signed up to Farming Connect, a vital element of our support to farming, food and forestry businesses.
