The events sector is a vital part of the visitor economy, and the Welsh Government has worked with stakeholders to help ensure that events are in a position to return successfully when conditions allow. That work has included providing over £10 million of essential support under our cultural recovery fund.

Sport and physical exercise is part of the solution in responding to the immediate and longer term threats of COVID on our communities. The Welsh Government has prioritised measures that encourage people to keep fit and healthy during the pandemic, and we will continue to do so over the coming months.

The Welsh Government continues to support local economies across Wales. Thousands of business in Swansea East are in receipt of funding via our support packages in response to the pandemic. We are also a key partner in the Swansea bay city deal, which will boost the region by £1.8 billion over the next 15 years.
