Local area fuel poverty estimates were published in April 2020. At that time, approximately 23,000 households in the South Wales West constituency were estimated to be spending more than 10 per cent of their household income on their household fuel bills.
On 6 September, we announced over £1.9 million of funding to help tackle food poverty and food insecurity. Funding will support local authorities and third sector organisations to put in place sustainable mechanisms such as community growing, community cafes, and food share schemes to help address food poverty and food insecurity.
Restrictions on accessing sporting facilities were lifted earlier this year in line with our coronavirus control plan. Our programme for government will lead to further investment in sporting facilities, improving accessibility, including accessibility in north Wales.
Our strategy for improving public transport is set out in Llwybr Newydd, the Wales Transport Strategy 2021. It sets out our plans for an accessible, sustainable and efficient transport system including immediate actions and long-term intentions.
