Motion NDM6619 as amended:
To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:
1. Notes the inability of the Welsh road network to cope with the current level of demand from motorists.
2. Regrets that Wales’s substandard road infrastructure is costing the Welsh economy hundreds of millions of pounds a year.
3. Acknowledges the vital importance of a fit-for-purpose and proper functioning road network for the long-term development of the Welsh economy.
4. Believes that in order to better connect Wales’s communities, improve the quality of journeys for commuters and develop the Welsh economy, appropriate investment in all modes of transport, not just roads, is required , including railways, coaches and buses, air and water.
5. Calls on the Welsh Government to work with the UK Government to look at innovative ways of funding future road projects.
Open the vote. Close the vote. For the amended motion 29, no abstentions, 24 against. Therefore, the amended motion is agreed.
We now move on to vote on the Plaid Cymru debate on housing for the homeless, and I call for a vote on the motion. Can we all just vote quite quietly please because it's disconcerting, the first one back? It might not be for you; you're all very clever, but, for me, it is when I'm trying to keep control here. So, if we can just be a little bit quieter, I know where we are then. So, I call for a vote on the motion tabled in the name of Rhun ap Iorwerth. If this proposal is not agreed, we vote on the amendments tabled to the motion. So, open the vote. Close the vote. For the motion 10, no abstentions, 43 against. Therefore, the motion is not agreed.
We now go to vote on the amendments. If amendment 1 is agreed, amendment 2 will be deselected. So, I call for a vote on amendment 1, tabled in the name of Julie James. Open the vote. Close the vote. For the amendment 26, no abstentions, 27 against. Therefore, amendment 1 is not agreed.
We now move to a vote on amendment 2. Call for a vote on amendment 2. Open the vote. Close the vote. For the motion 18, no abstentions, 35 against. Therefore, amendment 2 is not agreed.
So, the Assembly has not agreed the motion without amendment and has not agreed the amendments tabled to the motion, therefore, the motion is not agreed. Okay, there we go. Thank you very much.
