Welsh Government has a range of programmes and projects that contribute to building community resilience, not only in south-east Wales, but across Wales as a whole. These programmes touch on all aspects of life from health and wellbeing to improvements in transport and community infrastructure.
As at September 2018 the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust employed a record level of staff. Overall full time equivalent staff numbers have increased by 11.2 per cent in the past five years; ambulance staff have increased by 7.8 per cent over the same period.
We continue to invest in a modern and integrated public transport system in Blaenau Gwent including local bus services, active travel and the very popular Ebbw Vale rail line.
The Welsh Government provides a range of initiatives which focus on the small things which can create local, accessible green spaces. Our £11 million Enabling Natural Resources and Wellbeing grant scheme supports projects that make improvements to natural resources in residential areas to deliver benefits to people, businesses and their communities.
