Tackling global deforestation is an important element in responding to the climate emergency and biodiversity decline. Through the Wales and Africa programme, we have planted 10 million trees in the Mbale region of Uganda, with an ambition to plant 25 million trees in the next five years.

The Welsh Government is working closely with our partners to ensure that the legislation, finance and other support are in place to hold Covid-secure local by-elections, as well as the Senedd election, in 2021.

We launched Transforming Towns in January with a package of support worth nearly £90 million to address the decline in town centres.
